Happy Leap Year

I tried to do a mid-week laugh around Leap Year, but it seems there is only one joke out there tagged as a joke for Leap Year, since I didn’t like it and I am not able to come up with something this morning off the top of my head, I figured I would just wish everyone a Happy February 29th!

Happy New Year’s Eve

Just want to say that I am glad to put 2011 behind me and I look forward to 2012.  I think we will see some very interesting times in 2012 and I am excited to see it unfold!  I hope everyone stays safe tonight – I will be playing games and watching fireworks!

Happy NEW YEAR!

Out of commission

Yup, I have been out of commission for a few days due to a stupid fall on my part that resulted in a sprang ankle.  I am finally getting back to a routine of some sorts!  UGH!

Recipes for Summer – Strawberry Romaine Salad

This is my favorite Summer Salad – You can use all romaine instead of spinach, but Iceberg just doesn’t do it justice!  You can warm the sesame seeds in broiler for 1-2 minutes, but not necessary.  – Rave Reviews – ENJOY

Ingredients

  • 1 head romaine lettuce – rinsed, dried, and chopped
  • 2 bunches fresh spinach – chopped, washed and dried
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 Bermuda onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds

Directions

  1. In a large salad bowl, combine the romaine, spinach, strawberries and sliced onion.
  2. In a jar with a tight fitting lid, combine the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, milk and poppy seeds. Shake well and pour the dressing over salad. Toss until evenly coated.

Baltimore Sun reports…June contracts on area homes hit four-year high

Although the Sun shows a positive sign “New contracts on homes for sale in the Baltimore area rose to their highest June level since 2007 — a positive sign for a housing market trying to heal after a years-long roller-coaster ride.”

There is the inside info that needs to be known!

We have seen increase in contracts, but not all of those contracts are making it to the settlement table. A good sign for the market is that we are starting to see many appraisal issues. Buyers are willing to buy, and pay the price, but the appraisals haven’t caught up to what a buyer feels a home is worth. This means that these contracts that are falling thru now, will make the market take a dip, but this is the necessary step for us to rise out of this market! I would predict another three or four months before we really start to see positive numbers posting in this area. Next spring we might even see a slight appreciation in our area. Happy Father’s Day

Just a quick note to wish all Father’s a Fantastic Father’s Day

OUCH!

I pulled my back out yesterday, so it has been difficult to get too much work done, I don’t like sitting in a chair very long.  I am just so thankful that I have a doctor’s appointment today at 2:00 – I just hope I can last that long – ugh..  Please fix me!
